"They got so much things to say right now! So much things to say!" - Bob Marley
I'm just chillin' with nice glass o' Mendoza's finest, a brick of brie cheese and some olives. Yum! Having a relaxing Saturday night in. Headin' to the 'burbs tomorrow to have a BBQ and hang with the little buggers before Nicole whisks them away to the North. I believe Moose Burgers are on the menu.
I had my department staff party last night. It was at the Sports Forum. We bowled. I, being in a league and all, was expected be some sort of professional. And well, I was. On their standards... I'm gonna be the talk of the office on Monday. - in a good way. Ohh BackCheck. It's like, BackChecking my ass back into high school all over again.
Mertch, hilarious story! But sorry to say it, I'm pretty sure doods were serious about you being in the movie. I'm SO pumped about Mertch comin' to Montreal for her Bachelorette! All the girls, in Montreal!?!? Amazing! And uh, the male strippers are kinda a big deal in Montreal... jus' sayin'. Anyways, I got some chicken thighs and fiddle heads to cook up! Haha! Great segue-way.
Wish I was able to get back up to the Yukon this summer. So good to see Copper and Betty all curled up like that. I always like to hear that he's still running! Marsh Lake sounds really good right about now! Get that BBQ rollin'! Say 'hullo' to Mike and Gail, ma 'n pa! Maybe his summer I'll get to see their cottage? I think I'm the only one who hasn't yet! We've busted out my favourite cottage game, right here, in the parks of Montreal. Washer-toss. I want to start a summer league. Other than that, I've just been waitin' for summer to come! I'm exited to get into the sun! Start walking about the city more and stuff.
So ya, Love yas all and CAN'T WAIT till we're all hangin' out East!

Marsh Lake sounds lovely right now, I think I'll go!
Can't wait to be there actually and perhaps not to have to think about this whole daycare mess. I met one woman today that has an at home daycare. Like I told JL, she's the complete opposite of Sylvie. The place was extremely clean and very quiet. I kept looking around thinking, oh God, Noé would put fingerprints all over that, oh he would be able to break that... But, mind you she only had one baby there today. She has 3 other kids starting in June, then with Noé and Mathis, that would be 6. There is another little boy the same age as Noé, a couple 2 year olds and the little baby girl is the same age as Mathis. Her priority is to take them out daily for walks and to the park across the street. It's tempting. I would have to pay for Noé all summer and start paying for Mathis in the fall. It might be worth it for the peace of mind and knowing they would be together.

Ice is Gone!
The ice disappeared today, May 26th. Earlier today, (and all this week actually) the lake ice was all rotten & broken up into crystals. Huge mile long masses of these crystalline shards, pushed by even the slightest breeze, were moving back and forth across the lake causing patches of open water areas to be covered over again within just a few hours. Of course the feeding swans would have to move over to some other area that was uncovered. Some of these 'islands' of ice were even pushed up onto shore, forming wave-like shapes along the windward shoreline. Yesterday, the Craigens invited us over, to observe one in front of their place, saying "it was nearly 20 feet high, the crystal shards falling off the top curl of the thing making a interesting sound, just like crystals falling and breaking". (any excuse for "happy hour" right) However, when we went over a bit later, things had changed again and the long pile of ice had reduced itself to maybe ten feet high or so. Apparently all the falling crystals had settled.
Today was really nice & hot (18º I think) so ya, tonight the ice is gone!
As always when it's really hot like this, the sky seems to get smoky. Sunset was golden.

A wedding's not a wedding without the hassle
Hi Family!!!!
Its just been so long since I've written anything, I figure I'm about due!! Pa, I love that picture of Copper and Betty, they look like Yin and Yang.
I'm just currently dealing with the barn lady. I was supposed to meet her at the barn today to discuss table placement.. she set up the meeting and I thought with all the previous ordeals dealing with this woman, I'd use a scare tactic and say I was bringing along my mother-in -law..... ooooooh scary right??? Well, a few days ago she calls me to say that a movie was being filmed at the barn, (Haven starring Eric Balfour Krista.. oh yeah!!) but they were only using the outside and we were fine to be inside. And I said.. "Tanya, are you SURE?? because I really don't mind coming another day, "no no honey!! We'll be fine!!" Well, of course when we get there, there are trailors set up everywhere and movie crew walking in and out of the barn. We can't get into the barn... Tanya didn't even call to tell me!! I told Nick to stay in the car while I talked to Tanya... if you could imagine a rabid rottweiler on his leash ready to attack at the first inch of freedom, that was him. I said, Nick, just call your mom and tell her not to come and I'll deal with Tanya. Honestly I've never dealt with a more incompetent person in my life!!!!!!!!! As I was storming off after talking with her, one of the movie crew yelled "hey lady!! You want to be in the movie?" I guffawed and yelled back, "YA RIGHT!!!!"
Well, Barb had to take the afternoon off work and travel all the way to Hubbards to meet us. We intercepted her on the road to tell her the news. Barb was not impressed with this woman.
I later got a call from Tanya saying she "bumped into my mother-in-law" and another meeting was set up and was very apologetic... I wonder what Barb said. Those MILs are good for some things eh?
Wedding planning continues to stress me a bit... thanks for listening to my rant.
Love ya! Buggsie
PS I hope that guy wasn't serious about asking me to be in the movie... with my luck it probably involved a make-out scene with Eric Balfour. NOT a good day.

Soooo tired
Hi Kids,
This is a view of the swans feeding in the open water out front here.
The telephoto camera setting, 'optically' pulls the swans closer, (ya, there is always at least 200 metres of sand beach when the tide's out) The ice covered lake behind them... (remember? "the lake always freezes the long weekend in November and always melts long weekend in May") Further back we see the cabins along the west shore at Mclintoc Place, (Mike & Gail's road, five miles from here) And of course the view is all backed up by beautiful Mt. Michie.
I think we've most likely had pictures of these two animals previously on the blog... however it's kinda cute how they are really quite comfortable with each other.

Singing the daycare blues
Well, Sylvie has decided to close her daycare so that leaves me looking for 2 spots come this fall. My heart and head hurt just thinking about it. Mathis is so little!! I hate this. I'm trying to think of different options, taking a year leave without pay, getting a mom friend who's also stuck without daycare to stay home, hiring a nanny for maybe a few kids, start begging at the big daycare. I don't know, it's so discouraging. I was really liking not thinking about this this time round. It was so stressful with Noé. Now I'm back there again. Anybody feel like nannying in Longueuil? Free room and board!
