Nice pictures Michelle!

Funny how Michelle's picture contributions to this blog and my own are so different! No morning coffee and baileys hile lounging for this mama! - oh yes, I noticed the big bottle of carolans on the side!! This weekend, we tried unsuccessfully to get Danielle out of bed. Instead, we had breakfast, went to Loblaws, ran other errands, went visiting friends and got lunch ready all before Danielle was up! That's ok! While Noé was down for his afternoon nap, Danielle and I went to PArty time! I may or may not have overdone it on the decorations!! Huge helium balloons, banners, streamers, noisemakers and party hats. I will take lots of pictures. Hopefully it will be nice out cause I have lots of outdoor decorations too, might be a little much for just inside the living room! If not, people will just have to manoever their way around my 5 foot tall "4" and "0" balloon sculptures!
Just throwing this out there. If any of you think you can make it, I think it will be worthwhile!! I will take lots of photos!

Hello family!!!!

Going for a swim today... like everyday, to the buoy and back. It's +30, the ocean is warm.. there are no sharks or jellies. Snorkelling, looking for gems and sea shells. (I'll keep my eye out for your ring Danio)
I will welcome fall, I've had a mean sunburn since the middle of June and this perpetual hangover has got to go. Slowly weaning myself off of booze, tonight we have yet another soiree at our friend's Gabriel's, then over to the renowned Shore Club followed by a midnight skinnydip. Ahhh geeze this is tiring.
Cold Keiths and a swim.

(In pics mine and Danielle's morning ritual, and Nick enjoying a rare treat on the "Mertch Too")

Love ya! Buggsie

Pean in Back!

I kinda forgot about the family (Nicole) blog for a while. So it was like hitting the goldmine of posts when I finally got to read all of them. Thanks Nicole. But now I'm killing time before the weekend starts. Friday from about 2:30 to quiting time = longest coupla hours of the week! This weekend is gonna be good. The 4th annual "Girly Gibson Gettaway" hosted by my buddy Claudia at her cottage. And it's gonna be nice weather unlike last year.
What else... I'm really looking forward to cutting out Mondays from my schedule. I've been making good bucks since starting at the old folks home, but at the same time the "I hate my job!" days have been happening more often. I think 3 day weekends a couple weeks a month will be just the cure. I'll need a new hobby or at least a partner in crime to hang out with. Anyone know any fun unemployed torontonians?
But I guess adapting to ONE more day off doesnt compare to ALL days off, eh Mom? Do you feel retired yet? Is all your teacher friends back to school? Speaking of which, cousin Denise said Terry met a friend on mine on the hiway, whose partner was also a teacher, who had kayaks on the roofrack. Who do you think this was? Danielle Lang? (Is her hubby a teacher?)
Was looking at those race week pics... Michelle, can I be invited next year? Promise I'll be cool!
Hey Nicole, I get wierd metallic taste in my mouth too! But I'm not pregnant... I think...
Oh yeah, Have fun down south M&D. Say congrats to Suzanne for us.
Love yas!

Mid-week in Montreal

Nicole here. Things are soooo quiet at the office, so I have plenty of time for blogging. I need distractions or otherwise I will fall asleep!! The Quebec regional office is under attack from the other regions because they claim we are getting all the museum money and breaking all the rules. Geesh! I'm feeling rather distinct right now, and if they don't stop I'm going to threaten to seperate. See if they love me then!!! Besides that, things are pretty relaxed at work.
I received a message from the daycare assistant last night, to come early this morning to discuss Noé's recent bad behaviour. And so it begins, Mom's first visit to the principal office... Apparently, Noé has been picking on one girl at daycare (I think she is kinda wimpy though and probably deserves it!). Sylvie kept finding her wimpering in the coat closet whenever she came back from changing diapers. She thought this girl was going in there on her own, but then she caught Noé red handed. When Noé thinks Sylvie isn't looking, he grabs the little girl and shoves her in the closet and closes the door. Then he makes this innocent face like he doesn't know where she is or what she is doing in there. He has started hitting and scratching her too. So, we need to find the book "Girls are not for picking on!".

Happy Birthday, Danielle. I'll try to call you in a bit. Hope you are having a grand time in Nova Scotia with Michelle and friends. Can't wait to hear all about it. First blog for me since school let out. Sitting here in my temporary home, surrounded by the contents of 129 Alsek Road. Everything seems a bit surreal at the moment. It's a rainy day today and feels more like fall. I'm keeping a close watch on the cranberries. It's going to be wonderful when I can pick any day of the week and not cram berry picking into one weekend. That's when my retirement will become a reality for me. I'm hoping to get to Fraser for some blueberries, but I have to find someone to go with. I ain't going by myself into bear country. You interested, Peanut?? How is your rock chucking arm? Things are going slow on the house, but I guess it will eventually get done. I'm finding it very weird not having to drive back into town. Dad needs me to help move the trim out of the house, so must go for now. It was good to catch up on all the blog entries I missed for the last couple of months. Keep smiling everyone. Love you lots, Mom

Dysgeusia (dis-GOOZ-ya)

That's when a pregnant women experiences a mettalic taste in her mouth (like she's been sucking on pennies all night) due to hormone changes in the body.

Lovely! Just when the nausea ended and I was finally able to appreciate some of my favourite foods again - now this!

I won't even start to tell you some of the pregnancy symptoms I have begun to experience in my vaginal area!

Noé has really taken to my belly. He asks to "Lay down with mama and snug baby" and lays his head on my belly and wraps both his arms around. Pretty darn cute!
