Happy Fathers Day, Ol' Dad!!

Hey family!

Dano here! I did that "Something crazy" thing here today!!  Please refer to the picture... hehehe!!! I love it!! the pic's don't do it justice.  It is all 3 dimensional so it looks like the stone is resting on my arm... It's a necklace I got in South America.  It's called a Chakana.  It is an all encompassing Inca symbol.  It was derived from the southern crux, the most predominant constellation in the southern hemisphere. It represents a compass, (like my foot tattoo!) and a calender, with Noe's birthday being represented by the top section! The three tiers represent the upper, middle and under world... (The condor, the Puma and the Snake)... the horizontal and vertical lines represent man and woman... What I appreciate most of it is the 4 Inca laws it holds... (in the 4 sections) - Don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal and don't be lazy.  I guess what it means most to me is the place where I got the necklace, Cuzco, Peru after climbing Machu Pichu... and the place I am at now.. a new me! and new phase of my life... starting to know myself and be happy with myself and stuff... thought I'd celebrate with a new tattoo!!! yay!!!

Too busy to take pictures

Hey family, a weary but satisfied Krista signing on. Just drove in from the cottage this morning and made it to work with 2 minutes to spare! It was a "work weekend" up at the cottage, as we wanted to get lots done since it will be at least 5 weeks until we'll be back between a bike race, Yukon trip and friends' parties. And did we ever work! We built recycling bins complete with shingled roof to match the woodmill, painted the bedroom and completely unjunked the sawmill building. Doesnt sound like much, but let me tell you. 30 years of stuff adds up. J's dad is worse than you Dad for "collecting" stuff. On a related note, do you know what porcupine shit looks like? I do.
We finished off the weekend with a visit from the cottage neighbours who happens to be a bit of a celebrity. Girls, you will appreciate this. Remember that scene from "Adventures in Babysitting" where they take the guy with the knife to the toe injury to the hospital and the doctory tells them them, (thick Indian accent) "I'm bery sorry, your friend is dead." It was the doctor! hahaha!
Gotta get to work here. Luv ya!

I really need a summer purse and some sandals... But i still might be down with going to have a sleep over in the burbs on Friday too!! We'll keep in touch this week about it.

I think I might do something crazy this Friday!!  : )

Dano

great pictures!

Nicole here. It looks like you had a great weekend Danielle. Funny name for the place, Little Green Devil! I think JL and I will keep this in mind if we try to go camping, the cottage looks like a good compromise with kids and all. Did you bring the stove and water and everything? Michelle, that's a beautiful picture. Did you sing at the wedding? Looks like you were part of the lounge act.
We had a busy weekend visiting. Noé went to a birthday party on Saturday then we had friends over on Sunday. Noé is really shy around strangers, it's quite funny. He just sits in his little spot and watches all the action going on around him. When they brought out the birthday cake, he nearly lost his mind, though. That's when he got into the party mood. Shouted along with the other kids "ga - teau! ga - teau! ga - teau!" Now, when I sit him down for dinner, that's all he wants!
