Mother Hubbards

Hi Family!!!

Well, Nick and I are all settled out here In Hubbards, unfortunately we haven't been able to enjoy the beach as the rain has been relentless. I enjoy the half hour drive into work. I sip on my coffee to-go and listen to CBC radio 2. It's a real meditation process. I give myself ample time so even if I'm stuck in traffic I'm not cursing the world. Really, the only stressful part of driving is if you're late and stuck in a long line of traffic.

I've been a preceptor for LPN students for the past couple weeks, I enjoy it, I think it gives me some good street cred. too. I'm really enjoying work. My nurse manager told me that I'll most likely be moved to the Hubbards area for work sometime this summer... that means going for a quick swim at the beach for lunch breaks!!!

PS Great photo eh? My friend Aynsley took this without me knowing at Natasha's wedding. So artsy.

Hey family!

I just got in from an amazing weekend retreat with Kim in the country.  We went to "Diable Vert" and stayed in a cottage for a couple of nights.  It was a failry wet and gloomy weekend too, so good thing we had the cottage!! We had a blast though.  We ate well and drank well too! ; )

Went for a big hike in the woods and just soaked up all the nature we could!  The fireflys were amazing!! We built some fires and just... hung out...

I found out that I have quite a bit of time off coming up, so I'm hoping to be able to have more weekends like this to come!

Love ya lots!

Next time you build a house, you can get Noé to help!

He's loving his tools. Gathers them all up, sets up the object that needs a "fixit!" as he says and the hunkers down on the ground and gets to work. He stays like this for well, a good 15-20 minutes, which is a lot!! Fixin whatever throughout the house!

Done Boarding!

Hi Kids
Hey, we installed the LAST piece of Gyproc yesterday! I'll try attaching a pic of Andrew screwing it on. This morning I'm waiting for the "tapers" (a couple of hillbilly lookin' dudes that will fill all the joints) to arrive, and get them started. They charge $1.00 per square foot of Gyproc that we purchased. (Not installed but purchased!) That works out to $8300. oo Considering we threw-out about 2000 sq. ft. in off-cuts... Geeze! You understand why I was trying to get the guys to use up some of the "bigger pieces". Then painting... same price, buck-a-foot. So in the end, that works out to about $40.00 for each 4 foot chunk that we took to the dump.
"So you wanna build your house yourself you say, hmm, better double the price!"
Love to all.
Ole Dad

Hang in there Gramma!

My last staff meeting ever!!!!!

It's Tues. and I'm tired and my face/teeth hurt and I need to finish my report cards and I have to plan for tomorrow and I'm allergic to the yellow stuff floating around and I miss dad, but other than that life is good. Looking forward to Nicole and Noe coming soon. I love the little messages he leaves for me on the phone. What a nice thing to go home after a long day at school. So glad to hear everything is fine with our baby girl Emma Meelan or Meelan Emma. Boys always think toilet humor is soooooo funny. Thanks for the long phone call, Krista. I haven't touched base with you for a while, Danielle. I hope I have a life when school comes to an end. There are so many loose ends to tie up here before I can walk away. Hope Michelle's move went okay and she comes on line soon. Take good care, love you lots, Mom

Just got back from my doctor's apointment. All is well in the baby making department. (This is Nicole, by the way) I could hear the heartbeat loud and clear and fast. It's so amazing to hear it!! All blood tests and urine tests and other misc tests(?!?!) are showing a healthy baby and pregnancy. I'm starting to feel little movements, I'm pretty sure its the baby, although Jean-Louis would agree that I am way more gassy these days. He's afraid I will be a bad influence on Noé (who of course thinks it's hilarious to make farting sounds). Ahhh, twos, here we come. Noé is officially a bad sleeper again. I'm starting to rethink the whole big kid bed idea. What will I do when I no longer have a place to trap him? Can I tie him to the bed? How come they don't mention that solution in the sleep training books?
